Now that we have a good feel for how the best 3-PT shooters in the world can adjust to conditions that change the flight of the basketball, we are considering applying our VMI to tomorrow's and maybe the "next weeks" College Basketball match-ups.
That is; we may be able to follow all the NCAAM and eventually NCAAW teams into and out from the various shooting conditions that surround college basketball conference and non-conference schedules.
We know, and you know, that a minus VMI means the pro teams will tend to shoot toward the front of the rim--missing and, due to floor positioning, allowing the defense more rebounds. Of course, the more extreme VMI's mean the largest differential in flight.
We and you, also know that a plus VMI means the NBA teams will tend to shoot toward the back of the rim--missing and allowing more offensive rebounds due to the way the ball bounces off the back of the rim and backboard.
Since it follows that if Professional shooters tendencies are such; then, college shooters will be affected even more so. Also, there are many more altitudes within the Division 1 college ranks than in the NBA, so when the NCAA Tournament begins, the entirety of the U.S. is represented in terms of shooting tendencies and you will have new insights on the bracket.
Is this something you would like for us to persue? Yes or No is good enough. Will you email me at clifton.neeley@baseballvmi.com or our admin contact to provide us some understanding of how to mold this? We should be able to have the VMI attached to all Division One games for this season.
You may also leave your comments on this blog.
We've heard from a few people and are still considering it. Some have requested we not publish their info. But we'd still like to hear from more before we make any promises. We are talking about introducing sometime before Conference play begins in earnest.

I am very much interested in college basketball offerings. I would even buy a subscription.
